its time to turn things on their Head part 1

After watching the various down turns of the economy - and the wealth of experience at the beck and call of the presidency - I find it funny to understand why the solution to our problems is so difficult for them to come up with, it's either incompetence they are all paper degree holders without practical knowledge due to the length of disjointedness from the realities of the everyday life of an average Nigerian, or maybe it's sheer wickedness - let us keep them poor so they would be subservient to us,  Now, basic economics has thought us that the economy is divided into 3 classes the upper class - middle class and the lower class a pyramid for any type of economic balance - it forms the tripod on which any economy works and is stable - but what has been the economic policies of this administration, their policies have been skewed towards the well being of the upper class and a faulty lower class, forgetting the the bulk of the work force of any nation fall within the middl...

its time to turn things on their heads part 2

You see this notion  Govt responsibility is to create an enabling environment , is said to make govt pass the bulk and responsibility to a supposed private sector that is bleeding from a killed middle class, and lack of funds finance to run business for 2 reason high interest rates and tenor of repayment, bearing in mind that the middle class is the engine room of commerce - we are not even a capitalist state, as far as I know, we run a mixed economy, so how then do we say govt responsibility is only to create an enabling environment? - what Exactly is the definition of enabling - policy formulation only?, but then income from sales of crude oil goes to govt and not the the same private sector? Don't you see the contradiction,  Let me not drag this debate for too long so I don't bore or overwhelm you- my intent is to show that we have better idea's then those ruling us today even with the million of years of abundant experience they have around themselves.   The last ti...

if the country is to be saved

Like it or not God ordained him to get there and fulfill a purpose, abubakar audu was not destined to govern kogi for a 2nd time, at the point when he was supposed to be crowned he dropped dead - and it is very very unfair to wish someone else evil especially someone you don't know - that is the bring down syndrome, associated with a particular ethnic grouping in nigeria - I am sorry to say this but from the questions they asked during the run up to the elections and town hall and answers that the candidates put forth, it was so obvious they just wanted to come in and continue with the liberalization of our economy - like I said earlier we are not a capitalist economy we run a mixed economy, things that should be privatized are not privatised those that should be are left and as we speak, they are giving us more challenges - further more the amount of lies that those people put forward is highly despicable, why should I trust someone that lies to me about facts that are in the publ...

and again the students are neglected, while the lecturers and non academic staff go with their bounty and loot

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/335669-buhari-signs-polytechnic-amendment-bill-into-law.html What's the benefit of a bill that is targeted at the lecturers non academic staff all people except the main people the schools were established for- the students - if the govt doesn't give them what they want they strike who suffers the students, when they are not on strike and they fighting for salary increment fighting for superiority between 2 different cadres academic and none academic - but who is not important the students - shameful We still have the issue of dichotomy which still permeates the labour sector

lets talk about our economy

The same way a floating exchange rate affects the price of imported drugs and small items that affect the poor, is the same way an open market in the oil sector would affect countries that are highly import dependent, the same way removal of subsidy encourages rent seekers in the oil sector and importation at lower cost, the true picture is real investment come in when the market is predictable and stable, people can look at it from different angles but the overall interest of the majority is more important then the benefit to few - refineries are also protected when established because they are the ones that would receive these subsidies, furthermore no subsidy opens the space for importation at the lower costs (dumping comes to mind) as against forcing the true investors that would be protected from importers - why does America as a country still subsidize agriculture if subsidy was bad? and the world Bank don't talk about that? China subsidize commerce by establishing SOE...

my view on the assessment of the World bank and IMF

The intent of me dropping this, is not to revive the thread but to show you the hypocrisy of the IMF and world Bank and development finance institutions to developing countries - how can anyone one say, Atms - online banking apps, financial link apps for mastercard national ID cards, ussd codes for transfer, payment systems like remita - bvn, online purchase of airtime linking the bank accounts, are a problem to our financial industry - it's left for those thinking IMF and the world Bank are working in their best interest to think twice and think deeply - http://saharareporters.com/2019/06/08/imf-warns-tech-firms-causing-disruption-nigeria-other-countries-financial-system  -

when truck drivers hold a state to ransome, this is my solution

I heard trucks have resumed along ikorodu road and the bridges even after the presidential order Why is the govt stressing themselves/ itself they have to get Smart, all they have to do is deal with the importers let them register the trucks they want to assess the port at the time they want to assess the port, any other truck without clearance and a tag with direction to whom hired them, when and where and the port gate or bridge as it is called, i.e where they are supposed to load, should be seized they don't even need a well mapped out yard, clear some bushes along Ibadan express way dump them there, establish a mopol unit or SARS unit and a magistrate court to charge them for contravention of any law they might or would have broken, make sure they pay heavily before they leave the place - that fee would serve as a money earning venture for SARS or mopol departments, indiscipline deserves an unusual disciplined approach to solve

is it the govt fault or ours - take your mental health seriously

Depression, maybe drugs or what ever it is, is making people insane, yesterday I saw a chic, as in a babe that I would admire on a good day - when I say, straight up figure 8 right height she garrrit it. A correct D size upstairs, and a molue trailing behind, in all its perfection- the unfortunate thing is she was in the first stage of her madness- 2 things crossed my mind, ritualist again!!! and possibly depression of the highest level, she was slightly covered with mud, meaning she either fell down or sat in a muddy area- she put her hands in her pocket walked eloquently with panache, brought out her hands while gesticulating to herself, in an imaginary fight effort with someone or a group of people - in my mind I was like what the f*** shit goosh, someone hold her, tie her - all she needs is a temporary sedation before she enters the market Square - once that happens, like they say, no solution again- then I wondered, people were just looking at her, maybe the other thing passing th...

the youths are lost - father find them

The youths that are supposed to know the definition of things, are just ignorant or is it that they don't know the difference between what is wrong and right? - and honestly with this crop of individuals, we would be in this quagmire for a very long time- when did checking the executive become a standoff with the executive? They are supposed to ensure that the budget is effectively monitored, as agreed by them and signed into law by the executive (president)- they are supposed to draw attention to issues that affect the country, that the executive does not see or is blind too, they are supposed to make laws, repeal laws that affect the people - they are supposed to reduce allocations for contracts or projects that are over valued, within the budget without adding to the total value of the budget- proper definition of appropriation, we are supposed to be able to complain to them, about issues that affect us and they take it to the floor and fight/debate it for us - they are not sup...

lets talk about the economy part 2

As part of the concept of labour-nomics, we are looking at our foreign policy architecture - we are looking at all the bi-lateral agreements and possible multi-lateral agreements and how they affect Nigeria's economy and Nigerian's in diaspora- we are looking at the inflow of foreign exchange and our interaction with countries around the world, with reference to 3 basic points 1. Economics and balance of trade 2. Corruption and the fight against it 3. Cultural exchanges and FDI's into Nigeria- as part of the cornerstone of the concept of our ideology, we hope to assess, all our previous foreign policy directions within 180days, and present a befitting policy direction which would be agreed upon by all Nigerians - and a new policy direction would be agreed on by all Nigerians through local community inputs.

is it possible?

Is it possible to turn the future and the fortunes of nigeria, around within 4 years? How should we set the parameters, for assessment of a governments performance? -  we know a lot of noise "publicity" exists in the space between delivery and actual performance, what should be the right indices for measuring performance- because, their are a lot of obstacles and diversionist - be it the media, select self styled opposition, and the most difficult - the single visioned people, that base there judgments on there own personal point of views. We would look at how we can generate funds to run and sustain the economy. Labour-nomics

the economy part 3 sources of finance to fund our development

Nigerian ports authority- Nigerian railway corporation Nigerian National petroleum corporation PPMC NPDC TETFUND PETF Nigerian satellite commission -space centre Firs Customs services Immigration services Sovereign wealth fund General hospitals Federal ministry of mines and steell development- specifically ajaokuta steel mill NCAA - airports CBN SEC/NSE PHCN - which has been wrongly privatized To mention a few, are sources of revenue generation for the federal govt, the challenge is, what percentage do each of these agency's contribute To the government treasury, for those that exist, at various levels in the state and the federal level- if our budget is going to be a N14trillion, how much would and could each of these agency's contribute? (Let us bear in mind that we would have to withdraw from a number of charters, like those we signed to that mandate us to set aside certain percentages of our lean budget to education, which is a priority of my govt) We st...
At this juncture- my intent is not to fuel religious attacks but to state my personal opinion and point of view. There is a thin line between, radicalism/ extremism and religion, the point where people start to challenge the status quo because of their personal beliefs is the point at which things start to go wrong- when boko haram started, it started with strong points of belief like this, not minding the fact that, this particular belief would later become a monster- it started from nysc where the standard dress code was bent to suit the few radicals, it has since spread to other areas of the society, and it is now -them against the world "other belief systems". Are we Arabs? Or Africans? Can we be more holy then those that own the religion? I beg to say, This same belief system is what is fueling the shiite movement in nigeria - this same belief system is what makes a person work out of a busy office at the height of business- leaving other people stranded to wait for...
For better understanding we need to know Nigerian's, from none Nigerian's and where they reside - the so called National identity card- how many Nigerian's have it? How many people stay in the hinterland villages, and how many stay in town ships? How do we know foreigners from real Nigerian's - so how can we solve the challenge of security, and other basic challenges of housing, a bank can get ATM cards to all their customers, but a federal govt cannot get national identity cards to genuine nigeria's - it's also not hard for them to get voters cards to people they so desire? We don't need a president that would go to bed by 7pm - claiming he has closed to the day- lights out till 6am the next day - we need a 24hr working president and not court jesters that we have in the national assembly and the executive- let's try and cover the judiciary because of the principle of separation of powers- but if that is so- we should also question them to find their fu...
Food for thought- do we practice democracy in nigeria? Or does the world really practice democracy? Just me thinking aloud- with the issue of popular votes and the electoral college in the U.S- well, Let's not forget the last governors forum in nigeria- 16 were insisting that 19 lost an election- and other, indices form the basis for my humble opinion.  I would like to stress this again, I believe we are not practicing democracy - what we are practicing, honestly for lack of the proper phrase- I would name it *I DON'T KNOW*, because no matter how we look at it, it doesn't make sense - we all know the definition of democracy bah - to stress my thoughts more only 0.2%, of the total population of nigeria, they determine what happens to the remaining 99.8%? That doesn't look or sound like something similar to democracy at all- When we are unable to make sure, minority have their say, but majority (the people/masses) have way, then we are not practicing democracy- it's s...

the economy part 4 - tax structures

Nigeria has the worst Tax structure- is so expletive we don't have to bother to define it - if you are self employed you would understand what I am saying better- now, if you do a government contract upon payment govt deducts 5% vat and 5% withholding tax - now u have used your own personal money to fund this contract, the money leaves your personal account, the job is done and comes back with tax deductions into your corporate account (because they only give contracts to companies) - this inflows have been charged already, ie tax paid (or taxes deducted from source) now the tax authorities would tell you to come with ur statement of account every month end and tell you, from your own personal money again you have to pay taxes- after they have deducted taxes from source previously- let's not forget N50 stamp duties - COT and VAT charged by banks on your withdrawal and deposits - now, to the 2nd phase- money is then wired from your corporate account, into your private account an...

we once had our own micheal angelo and the world knew he had risen again

Ben enwonnwu an epitome of patriotism - he neither caused any wars nor bought shame to nigeria through issues of fraud, and even after years of his death the works of his hands speak positively about nigeria to the world through him- a man cut out of the cloth of the great legend picasso - TUTU sold for £1m +, he also has various works of art to his credit a sculpture of queen Victoria of the UK is also one, a lot to think about and yet he isn't in any of our history books - I can see one man is matching all over the niger delta leading protest, the same man that refused to allow true federalism is campaigning for true federalism - make una continue to disgrace nigeria upandan even in death most of the works of their hands would continue to judge all of you

common sense, in the sea of senselessness

I am a supporter of common sense, and I believe a lot of people lack common sense in the Nigerian political space- some are their as rabble rousers others are there are catalysts but majority are their to disrupt the natural phenomena of life- let the so called governors that believe they are party leaders continue - one day is one day
